The power of your subconscious mind…
I am quite sure and convinced that you want to be successful in life, just like I am. Being successful in life is what we all want to be in our life, in one way or another.
One of the key factors for success is your mental attitude. You may ask yourself what your mental attitude has to do with your success. Well, it has to do everything with your success. Let’s have a look at it.
The way the mind works is a complex piece of work. But here we will keep it simple. Basically, the mind exists out of a conscious and a subconscious part. The subconscious mind is our deep being, the center of our being, the soul and engine of our life, the place from where the intuition comes. How does the subconscious mind function? The subconscious mind has a knowledge that has been build up through beliefs, experiences, values, perceptions, assumptions, etc. That knowledge is acquired through your own deliberate allowances or through implementation and training coming from third parties.
Basically, the conscious mind is a data collectionar that filters and decides what it is going to let through to the subconscious mind. There are two main ways that the conscious filter will let through information. One is through continuous repetition connected with emotion and the second one through something happening once but has such a heavy and strong emotion that it is immediately absorbed by the subconscious mind.
We all remember from our younger years at school and at our parents’ home the repetitive words like ‘You cannot do this…’ or ‘You are not able to do ….’. These repetitions feeded our subconscious mind and we were starting to act upon them. Do you recognise this? Everytime hearing the same thing over and over made us starting believing in it. The same is true for the positive repetitive phrases that we hearing time over time. So, how does the whole picture work, and what has this to do with your success?
Everytime you experience something now, you act upon it consciously, but quite often you do or react in a way that you don’t control it consciously. You just do it or act upon it. A good example is driving your car. You don’t think about it anymore, you just drive. Now, the way you drive will all depend on the experiences that you had in the past. A personal example to explain this to you. I was 19 years old, I just had my driving license and I had a small old car. One rainy day, I was driving, thinking that I was an excellent driver, which I still think I am, back home to my parents place. Somewhere on the way home, I had to turn left. When turning left I accelerated and lost the control over my back tyres and I was heading a wall. Luckily I was able to stop just in time and all was fine. But still now, everytime it is raining and I have to take a curve, automatically I drive more carefully because my subconscious mind tells me ‘Erwin watch out. Do you remember that day …’ This example shows you that act upon experiences and emotional things that happened in your life before.
Do you agree with me that the subconscious mind is ‘trained’ through repetitive or emotional actions or words? If so, you have the possibility to train your own subconscious mind in the way that you want it act for you in the future. If you want to be successful in life, you can train your subconscious mind by telling it over and over again what exactly you want to achieve. If you keep repeting that you are a successful person, your subconscious mind will start acting upon it. Why? Because the subconscious mind will accept it as a truth.
So, be conscious about the power of your subconscious mind. Whatever seeds you plant, that is what you will reep. Think and act positive, and your life will start be positive.
